It has been a few solid weeks of exciting travel and goings on. Back in March, I went to London for a little over a week to make some work and just see friends and art. It was a very inspiring trip, and I made some work I’m incredibly proud of! Attaching a small preview below:
Many thanks to Fahad for having me out to his country retreat and trusting me to make these photos with him! Excited to work on a new publication soon and likely including the images made out in the UK for some of it!
After that, I returned to New York to work for a week before heading off to Los Angeles for the installation and opening of my exhibition By the Skin of My Teeth, shown at CULTUREEDIT c/o Tom of Finland store. This was a gallery show of work taken from my book of the same name, published last year. The show was supposed to occur back in October; however, my two spine surgeries delayed things. That being said, I was so excited to finally get out west and show this work I’d had ready for months! I printed half of the show traditionally, in the darkroom and was very proud of all the work I got to show.
I got to see so many people I hadn’t seen in ages and meet a lot of you guys that only existed as Internet friends until now! It was a great opening, and I’m really so grateful for the opportunity. I did an interview with CULTUREEDIT on their website and all the work at the show is for sale. Please take a moment and click in to check both out below:
I don’t often sell prints, so if you’ve ever wanted some work from me in your collection, please consider buying some from CULTUREEDIT. They are all framed, editioned, and signed.
To that end, I also had a show of work at XPIZZA in New York back in February, curated by Samantha Sutcliffe. This work was all for sale as well. Below are the remaining pieces - Polaroids of mine, which I consider to be very precious 1/1 unique and special objects. I got the opportunity to do some great shoots out in LA too. Friend of the zine, Moshiel organized a wonderful shoot at the Eagle LA with a handful of this year’s LA leather titleholders. We did a bunch of group shots and solo stuff… I’m excited to get my film developed and scanned. Here’s a digital teaser in the mean time:
Anyway, I’m back in New York and procrastinating doing my day job while sat at my desk. I am hoping to continue doing these sorts of updates via email blast monthly or whenever the need arises.
